What I like about my therapist is that she is extremely supportive and is non judgemental. She has been a guiding force in helping me recognize that I can improve my life and my mental health through therapy and the use of different strategies. Since I am in treatment, I have become less stressed and less anxious.
My therapist listens to me for real. She takes me seriously and provides tools and exercises that have helped improve my mental health and my life. I have learned to regulate and calm myself through breathing exercises. I am taking care of myself more and feel more comfortable talking about my feelings.
My life has definitely improved in the time period that I have been working with my clinician. I have gone from an individual who was “overwhelmed” with anxiety and anger to someone who acknowledges her feelings and uses a variety of different techniques to deal with them in a much healthier manner. Meditation, grounding techniques and mindfulness have become second nature for me. I have learned more about the physiology of the brain and how to “retrain” my reactions.
