Individual Adult Online Therapy

At Inclusion Online Therapy we believe in incorporating different approaches to help our clients. We use different interventions and honor cultural practices and traditions as an integrative part of your therapeutic process.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based therapeutic model designed to increase psychological flexibility. It combines mindfulness-based techniques with behavior change strategies, helping individuals accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment while committing to actions that align with their values. This approach empowers clients to live more meaningful and fulfilling lives despite the challenges they may face.

Psychodynamic Therapy

This form of therapy explores unconscious processes and past experiences to understand and address present issues. It emphasizes the impact of early relationships on current emotions and behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors to help you improve your mental health and your life.  It is a goal-oriented and practical approach that helps individuals develop healthy coping strategies to address challenges and specific mental health conditions.

Solution Focused Therapy

This modality is a short term and goal-oriented approach that emphasizes finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It focuses on clients’ strengths and resources to help them work towards achievable goals.

Our associates are trauma-informed clinicians. We recognize the prevalence of trauma and emphasize the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing and empowerment, integrating this awareness into all aspects of care and interactions.

Mindfulness Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy involves cultivating awareness of the present-moment and acceptance to alleviate anxiety and stress. It integrates meditation and mindfulness practices to promote a non-judgmental and compassionate approach to thoughts and emotions.

Emotional Freedom Technique

This therapeutic approach combines acupressure and cognitive techniques to help clients address emotional distress. It involves tapping on specific meridian points to address emotional issues, reducing distress and promoting psychological well-being.

Breathwork

Breathwork therapy involves conscious control of breathing patterns to promote relaxation, self-awareness, and emotional release. It aims to enhance overall resilience and stress management.

Movement Therapy

Using movement to explore emotions and release tension in your body. It integrates body movement with psychological processes, fostering self-expression and improving overall mental health.

We provide comprehensive psychological evaluation services to support immigration cases. Our assessments are tailored to assist with asylum claims, hardship waivers, U-Visas, VAWA petitions, and other immigration-related issues. Our evaluations encompass a thorough analysis of the psychological, emotional, and mental health aspects relevant to your legal proceedings.

Our evaluations include specialized tests and assessments designed to diagnose mental health conditions and evaluate trauma, emotional challenges, and extreme hardships. They also highlight the impact of your immigration journey on your mental well-being.

During your evaluation session, we will inquire about your background, mental health history, family dynamics, and medical and psychiatric conditions. The information collected is used to create a detailed report that covers hardship factors, the outcomes of mental health assessments and scales, DSM-V diagnoses, implications, and recommendations.

Our clinicians are proficient in both English and Spanish, ensuring effective communication to support our clients.

Therapy FAQs

Talk Therapy is a process where you can discuss what is going on in your life. It can literally change the way you think and behave. If you are going through a separation, a transition, loss of a loved one or are feeling a sense of hopelessness, therapy can offer a safe space to talk about those things and feel supported.  It can also help you identify and nurture your unique strengths and improve your self-awareness, mood, productivity, and relationships.

Online therapy is also known as virtual therapy, and telehealth is the delivery of mental health services via an electronic device like your phone or your computer. Virtual therapy is an excellent option for support, self-exploration, and growth, showing similar outcomes to in-person treatment in terms of satisfaction and self-reported progress.

We are an online practice, so we are basically everywhere. Our Associates are licensed to practice in New York and Florida allowing us to serve you whether you are in Manhattan or South Beach.

At Inclusion Online Therapy, we take pride in serving individuals who identify as different and underrepresented. Our mission is to support the needs of multicultural and diverse communities, including but not limited to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

We are passionate about working with people who are experiencing stress, anxiety, and life transitions. Our clients often face challenges such as:

  • Moving to a new place or city
  • Struggling in a relationship
  • Facing new family responsibilities such as caregiving
  • Adjusting to new successes in their career
  • A new medical diagnosis such as cancer and parkinson's disease

We are here to help you navigate these changes and support your journey towards improved mental health and well-being.

A free 15-minute consultation is an initial meeting between you and a therapist, designed to help you determine if psychotherapy is right for you. During this brief session, you will have the opportunity to:

Meet the Therapist: Get acquainted with the therapist who may be guiding you through your mental health journey.

Discuss Your Concerns: Briefly share the issues or challenges you are facing, and why you are considering therapy.

Ask Questions: Inquire about Inclusion Online Therapy approach, methods, and experience to see if they align with your needs and preferences.

Understand the Process: Learn about the therapy process, what to expect in future sessions, and how therapy can help you.

Evaluate Fit: Determine if you feel comfortable with our services and if you believe that we can provide the support you need.

During your free consultation, you will schedule your initial session with your therapist. You will be asked to complete additional documentation and upload necessary documents through our secure portal, Simple Practice.

In the initial session, your therapist will get to know you better. You will have the opportunity to discuss your current situation and why you believe treatment could be beneficial. Your therapist will ask questions and gather information to determine how best to support you during this time. Following the initial assessment, you and your therapist will develop a plan to address your challenges and help you manage and improve your mental health.

After the initial session, you will continue with weekly sessions, each lasting between 45 to 50 minutes. These sessions will focus on teaching you new coping strategies, providing education on mental health, processing current life events, and assessing your progress.

Clients typically meet with their therapist once a week, although some may opt for two or three sessions per week based on their individual needs. We initially recommend at least weekly meetings, as they are crucial for successful treatment and building rapport with new clients.

Please note that new clients are currently accepted only if they can commit to weekly sessions.

The number of sessions needed to see results in therapy can vary significantly based on your individual needs and the specific issues you want to address. Here are a few key factors that influence the duration of therapy:

Nature of the Issues: Some concerns, such as acute stress or a specific phobia, may be resolved relatively quickly, often within a few sessions. More complex issues, like long-term depression, anxiety disorders, or trauma, might require a more extended period of treatment.

Therapeutic Goals: Your personal goals for therapy will play a significant role in determining the number of sessions you need. Short-term goals, such as coping with a recent life change, might be achieved in a shorter time frame. Long-term goals, like altering deeply ingrained behavior patterns or working through past trauma, may necessitate a longer commitment.

Frequency of Sessions: Regular, consistent sessions are crucial for making progress in therapy. Initially, weekly sessions are recommended to establish rapport and build momentum. As you progress, the frequency of sessions might decrease based on your needs and progress.

Individual Response to Therapy: Everyone responds to therapy differently. Some individuals may start to see improvements after just a few sessions, while others may take longer to notice significant changes. Your engagement in the process and willingness to apply what you learn in therapy to your daily life can also impact your progress.
