General FAQs

Talk Therapy is a process where you can discuss what is going on in your life. It can literally change the way you think and behave. If you are going through a separation, a transition, loss of a loved one or are feeling a sense of hopelessness, therapy can offer a safe space to talk about those things and feel supported.

It can also help you identify and nurture your unique strengths and improve your self-awareness, mood, productivity, and relationships.

Online therapy is also known as virtual therapy, and telehealth is the delivery of mental health services via an electronic device like your phone or your computer. Virtual therapy is an excellent option for support, self-exploration, and growth, showing similar outcomes to in-person treatment in terms of satisfaction and self-reported progress.

We are an online practice, so we are basically everywhere. Our Clinicians are licensed in New York and Florida allowing us to serve whether you are in Manhattan or South Beach.

After your free 20 minute consultation, you will get some paperwork to complete. You can complete the paperwork and upload documents through our secure portal  Simple Practice.

The initial session can take up to 60 minutes. The therapist will ask you questions to get to know you better and learn more about your concerns and/or challenges.

A regular session is 45-50 minutes. Clients typically meet their therapist weekly, with some opting for two or three sessions depending on their needs. Initially, weekly meetings are crucial for successful treatment, and building rapport with clients. New clients are currently accepted only if they can commit to weekly sessions.

The number of sessions for treatment will depend on your current needs and what you want to address in therapy.

At Inclusion Online Therapy we believe in incorporating different approaches to help our clients. We use different interventions and honor cultural practices and traditions as an integrative part of your therapeutic process.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy- This form of therapy explores unconscious processes and past experiences to understand and address present issues. It emphasizes the impact of early relationships on current emotions and behaviors.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy -Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors to help you improve your mental health and your life.  It is a goal-oriented and practical approach that helps individuals develop healthy coping strategies to address challenges and specific mental health conditions.
  • Solution Focused Therapy - This modality is a short term and goal-oriented approach that emphasizes finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It focuses on clients' strengths and resources to help them work towards achievable goals.
  • Trauma Incident Reduction and Trauma Informed Care- Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR) therapy aims to alleviate the emotional impact of traumatic experiences through a guided and  systematic processing of the incidents. It focuses on resolving the emotional charge associated with traumatic memories to promote healing and integration.

As trauma informed therapists, we recognize the prevalence of trauma and emphasizes creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing and empowerment, integrating this awareness into all aspects of care and interactions.

  • Mindfulness Based Therapy -Mindfulness-based therapy involves cultivating awareness of the present-moment and acceptance to alleviate anxiety and stress. It integrates meditation and mindfulness practices to promote a non-judgmental and compassionate approach to thoughts and emotions.
  • Emotional Freedom Technique - This therapeutic approach combines acupressure and cognitive techniques to help clients address emotional distress. It involves tapping on specific meridian points to address emotional issues, reducing distress and promoting psychological well-being.
  • Breathwork -Breathwork therapy involves conscious control of breathing patterns to promote relaxation, self-awareness, and emotional release. It aims to enhance overall resilience and stress management.
  • Movement Therapy: Using movement to explore emotions and release tension in your body. It integrates body movement with psychological processes, fostering self-expression and improving overall mental health.
